High Tea Celebrations

Hi Everyone,

Recently in April both my daughter, 4th of my children and
I celebrated our birthdays this year by  having our own
birthday preparations as a Afternoon High Tea.
It was the first of High Teas I've ever been too and
I found the lead up very exciting. Its the sort of party
I'm sure many of us would love and our guests
thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in good company,
set out on our verandah. I came across some discounted
curtain panels which help to add sum charm and privacy for our occasion

This card above was made by my niece who has a special love
for all things vintage, a girl after my own heart, I can see her
developing talents.
Here she is below wearing a vintage outfit that belonged to my
Aunty, her great grandmother and it looks like it was made
for her!

It was an enjoyable afternoon and I look forward to be able to do
something like this again in our home. I'll leave with a few more
photos.

Hi Everyone

Just a quickie little post to show and tell some recent projects
that I was commissioned to do for a friend. She wanted these
little handbags for her two granddaughters. We found the idea
for them on the net - here
There are little zip up bags that do take on the likeness of little
patchwork owls as well.

Hexagon Quilt

Hi Everyone

I've had a bit of creative fun and relaxation doing some sewing. Its the first real time I've given the method 'English Piecing' on a big scale, what initially seems a challenging task is actually quite simple, a nice way to will away our far too many rainy days of late and a welcome distraction from working hours.  As is my habit once I started I couldn't let it be until the project was complete. The quilt now hangs proudly above our bed on our bedroom wall and compliments our bed quilt very well.

I actually purchased this pattern almost 2 years ago and also 2 pkts of precut hexagon paper shapes, rather than cut my own. The hexagon size is 1 7/8" size - and I pieced 128 of them in all, the Dresden plate design in the centre of the quilt was put together the same way.
It seems to be quite difficult to find nice mauve/yellow tones of purples, so I've been collection a few pieces until I had the right mix. I also had to acquire a few doilies to complete the project.
The pattern was designed by a local quilter in Warwick, our former town of 21yrs. Warwick has lots of great patchwork stores to boast of. Without further ado here is our some photos to complete the story.

Hope this post has inspired your creativity to try some sewing soon. And I hope we see some sunshine days again real soon, in the meantime I'll enjoy the sewing as a distraction.

2013 Seasonal Catalogue Launch

Hi Everyone

Recently I had the first Catalogue launch for 2013, combined of course with the great rewards of SAL-A-BRATIONS time too, it is the beginning of a few workshops this year.
I'm happy to report that it turned out a successful event, many thanks to my loyal customers.
So here goes a photo showcase. Some of the projects are CASES and I'll credit accordingly, grateful for the inspiration to put such an event together within 2 days amongst my busy working life.

I had a go at making some heart wreaths too.

My hubby called on his morning tea as a surprise while I was having my workshop with a dainty, beautiful bunch of flowers for Valentine's Day!

So I hope you feel inspired with those of my own designs and those beautiful selections I have cased for this launch.
