Sympathy Cards

Hi Everyone,

Sympathy cards.............
No one wants an occasion to need one
No one wants to need to buy or  make one either
however its one of the simplest forms of offering condolences to one another.
Nothing can replace a loved one or take away the pain of your loss and time softens the impact, like a lot of situations in life one learns to live with the experience.

Sadly I had reason to attend a funeral of a littlie, a little boy just over 2 years old.
He was the great grandson of one of my closest friends, a family I've know for over 20 years.
And like a lot of us I guess I didn't have the right sort of cards made on standby.
As I made these cards for the respective family members it gave me time to think and pray for the families as well.

I made these cards using some card parts of the Simply Fabulous Simply Sent card kit

In the kit you get 4 of the green envelopes and 4 of the grey envelopes as well as 8 of the lazer cut card fronts with cut ribbon lengths and bling - see 1st photo

The stamps I used were

Crosses of Hope stamp set -

 Love and Sympathy Stamp set

I did a fair bit of  heat embossing using Silver  and white embossing powder, to make them that more special looking.

Hope this post helps you when you next turn to making cards of this nature.

About Ruthy

A little bit about me............... (hey I never do a 'little bit' LOL! I'm a chatterbox in word and speech  :-)

I'm married to hubby Brett for 27 yrs, together we have 5 children (4 are grown adults), 1 teenage daughter, 1 grandson and another to follow in August, all who are a blessing to our lives. We live in Australia. Besides being a musician, I've always been involved in some craft or another, especially sewing and paper craft. I have a love of all things vintage, lace and shabby chic!

I've been a scrapbooker since May 2002 and I've been published extensively in various Australian Scrapbooking Magazines- Scrapbook Memories, Scrapbook Creations and Creating Keepsakes. I have served on several online shop Design Teams and Manufacturing Design Teams. My journey has awarded me Honourable Mentions for 3 consecutive years in the Scrapbooking Masters and For Keeps - Elite.
Photography is my passion so when I can I like to combine all three aspects.

I joined the StampinUp family in July 2010 as an independent demonstrator and have looked forward to extending my paper-art skills in that area ever since.
During my journey with Stampin Up, I've had opportunity to be a presenter at various Stampin Up Events including Product Playground/Resource Centre and as a featured presenter at Brisbane Heartfelt Regional Event in 2012.

I continue to enjoy my opportunities and the company and contribution my growing team makes to my life.  I am also currently a Design Team member on JAI- Just Add Ink Challenge Blog- I especially focus on contributions to the scrapbooking challenges. It is a great site for getting those creative juices flowing and trying something new by the inspiration provided by my fellow talented team members. They are the best team buddies and I continue to enjoy their friendships.

The JAI Team as of May 2013. New members recently added since :-)
